Policies & FAQ's

The Prince Edward is a family friendly establishment and we always welcome parents and well-mannered children.
Check-In: 3pm to 9pm. Please call to confirm your check-in time.   |   Check-Out: 10:00 am promptly.

  • 7% New Jersey Sales Tax and 7% New Jersey Hotel Tax are applied to nightly rentals
  • Deposits not received within 10 days of booking will result in a cancellation
  • Deposits can vary depending on the time of year and the Suite
  • The balance is due by cash upon arrival or by check 10 days prior to arrival. Unfortunately, personal checks and credit cards cannot be used as final payment on the day of arrival.
  • A two (2) night minimum applies to all nightly rentals; A three (3) night minimum applies to all nightly rentals over holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July)

Cancellation Policy

Nightly/Off-Season
We will gladly refund your deposit provided we are notified in writing or by email at least 14 days prior to your arrival. Cancellation requests received with less than 14 days will receive a returned deposit if the suite is rebooked. A service fee of $50 will be deducted from your rental refund should notice be less than 14 days regardless of whether the suite is rebooked.

Weekly/On-Season/Holiday Nightly (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)
While we understand that situations may arise which would cause you to cancel your vacation plans, our cancelation policy is strictly enforced given the demand over the summer months.  Refunds will issued if your provide notice in writing or email 30 days prior to your arrival, subject to a $50.00 service fee. If cancellation is received prior to 30 days, a deposit will be returned if the suite is rebooked. A $100 cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations regardless of whether or not the suite is rebooked.

As with all cancellations, we will make every attempt to rebook your suite. Please provide notice as soon as possible.

Notice, Restrictions and Prohibitions

For the comfort and safety of all our guests, the following restrictions apply:

  • Although we are dog and cat lovers, pets are not permitted on the premises
  • Smoking is not permitted on the entire property. This includes the porches, veranda, backyard and driveway.
  • Parking, outside showers, use of porch and other facilities including the suite are for registered guests only.  Day guests are permitted only with advance notice and are subject to a $40 per day facility fee. Overnight guests are NOT permitted.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult in common areas and during the use of outdoor facilities including the porch, backyard and verandah.
  • On-site parking for one (1) average size vehicle. Oversize vehicle such as large SUVs and pick-up trucks will be required to park in the Bank Street parking lot which is a brief 10 minute walk away. A parking permit is required for this lot and one will be provided with the remittance of a $175 refundable deposit.

FAQ’s

We have friends staying in Cape May at a different hotel/inn/house, are they permitted to use the facilities as well as the front porch?

  • You are permitted to invite guests to the use the facilities at the Inn however there is a $40 per day/per person facility charge. For the comfort of our other guests, we ask that you be courteous and respectful with your usage of the facilities. Unfortunately, we cannot provide parking.

Are the beaches free in Cape May? Do you provide chairs, towels, and umbrellas?

  • Like the majority of sea-side beach resorts in New Jersey, Cape May utilizes beach tags as a means to fund beach cleaning operations and life guard expenses. Beach tags can be purchased (daily, weekly) at most beach entrances. Unfortunately, city code prevents us from offering free beach tags.  Please be sure to bring your own beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas.

If we arrive before check-in, can we park in the driveway and use the shower facilities?

  • Parking is available at 3pm, day of check in.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate you or your vehicle prior to 12:00 pm as our driveway is needed for cleaning and maintenance staff.
  • Please do not just park your car and leave, we may think it is a car parked illegally.
  • Please note the suites will not be ready until 3:00pm on the day of arrival.

Can we leave our car on the property after we check-out and use the facilities for the day?

  • Parking and facilities are available until 10 am day of checkout. Cleaners, and  maintenance will arrive at that time.

Can we bring two (2) cars?

  • Unfortunately, our parking lot only affords us the ability to allow one (1) vehicle per rental.

Can you provide recommendations for dining and activities?

  • Absolutely! The owner has spent the last 18 years in Cape May and is familiar with the best restaurants, activities, beaches, and shops. Stop in and ask anytime. However, during the busy summer months, we recommend making reservations to restaurants prior to your arrival in Cape May as they tend to fill up. Cape May is the “restaurant capital” of New Jersey!

Do you offer late check-out or early check-in?

  • During the summer months, this is not available. Please inquire when making reservations for arrivals in the fall or spring.
